The Court of Accounts of the Kingdom of Morocco participated, with a delegation led by Mrs. Zineb EL ADAOUI, First President, in the G20 Supreme Audit Institutions Summit (SAI20), held on June 24 and 25 in Johannesburg, South Africa, at the invitation of the summit\u2019s presidency, represented by the Auditor-General of South Africa. The Court of Accounts also contributed to the technical preparatory meetings for this Summit, held in February and March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the third consecutive year, the Court has taken part in the SAI20 Summit, an important forum for discussion and dialogue among the leaders of the Supreme Audit Institutions of the G20 on common issues and concerns related to the development of public sector auditing at the international level. The 2025 Summit focused on two major themes of critical importance to the international community: financing infrastructure for development, and preparing states with the skills and expertise needed for the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During her speech at the plenary session, the First President highlighted the relevance and urgency of these two topics, as well as the challenges they pose within the framework of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. She stressed the necessity of undertaking a structural reform of international development financing that considers the debt sustainability of countries, the impacts of climate change, and issues of justice, inclusion, and representation of Global South countries. The First President also emphasized challenges related to managing infrastructure projects, particularly in low-income countries, due to weak governance and capacity deficits, as well as the measures taken by audit institutions to overcome these challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The First President underlined the efforts deployed by the Court to support national strategic initiatives implemented in the country, thanks to the enlightened vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him. She notably cited the National Initiative for Human Development, which prioritizes strengthening infrastructure, developing public-private partnerships, upgrading human capital, and enhancing its resilience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She further noted that the Court of Accounts has incorporated these priorities into its 2022-2026 Strategic Plan, adding that it has conducted qualitative audits and controls aimed at achieving a lasting impact on governance and the management of infrastructure projects, as well as reinforcing the responsiveness of national employment and training policies to the Kingdom\u2019s social and economic transformations. She also highlighted the importance of the Summit as a platform for sharing expertise, developing partnerships, and coordinating the work of the SAI20 Group alongside the global efforts of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI), thereby enabling the formulation of continental, regional, and national responses to global challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the sidelines of the Summit, the First President held a series of bilateral meetings with leaders of the Supreme Audit Institutions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Brazil, India, Russia, Egypt, and Turkey. These meetings aimed to strengthen bilateral cooperation, share expertise and experiences, and coordinate efforts with these institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
