She also emphasized the need to empower the African Union\u2019s Executive Secretariat at the External Auditors\u2019 Board with the human resources necessary to support the work of the Board and its Audit Operations Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On this occasion, the First President called for providing adequate conditions for the members of the Audit Operations Committee to carry out auditing work in optimal conditions. She also stressed the critical importance of following up on the recommendations issued by the External Auditors\u2019 Board, which could enhance the impact of the Board\u2019s work on the African Union\u2019s financial governance. She also expressed the Court of Accounts\u2019 readiness to share its experience in this area with the Board and other relevant African Union bodies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Board is composed of the heads of six supreme audit institutions with permanent membership, representing the countries contributing the most to the African Union budget: Morocco, Egypt, Nigeria, Angola, Algeria and South Africa in addition to five rotating members representing the continent\u2019s geographic regions (North, South, East, West, and Central) on a two-year basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This meeting primarily focused on adopting the African Union Accounts Audit Strategy for 2025, which will be implemented in the upcoming year as well as elaborating the audit plan and distributing tasks among the audit institutions forming the External Auditors\u2019 Board. In this context, the Court of Accounts was tasked with the same areas it audited last year in connection with the African Union Commission\u2019s accounts, namely investment management, financial management and partner funds.
