The purpose of this visit was to examine the modalities for implementing the Memorandum of Understanding signed between AFROSAI and the Commission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On this occasion, the First President highlighted the strategic orientations guiding the work of AFROSAI\u2019s General Secretariat since the Court assumed this function, following the effective transfer of the Secretariat from Cameroon to Morocco in July 2025. These orientations focus in particular on enhancing communication with the Organization\u2019s member institutions, strengthening the performance of AFROSAI\u2019s committees, and fostering coordination and interaction among the Arabophone, Anglophone and Francophone sub-regional organizations. She also emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation with development partners and donors, as well as reinforcing the Organization\u2019s international representation through increased engagement within INTOSAI and other global forums.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For her part, Ms. Maambo Muzamai commended these modernization initiatives undertaken by the General Secretariat, which will help highlight the positive impact of AFROSAI\u2019s work in promoting good governance across Africa. She also stressed the importance of strengthening the independence of Supreme Audit Institutions, enabling them to fulfil their mandates with full neutrality and objectivity, free from external influence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A working session was held between representatives of the Commission and a team composed of a representative of the AFROSAI Presidency \u2013the Bureau of the Auditor General of Libya\u2013 together with representatives of the Executive Secretariat and of the Anglophone sub-regional organization, the latter participating remotely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the conclusion of the meeting, a draft action plan for the implementation of the aforementioned Memorandum of Understanding was agreed upon. This draft plan sets out practical steps to bolster the legal and institutional framework of Supreme Audit Institutions in Africa, building their professional capacities and furthering advocacy efforts for SAI independence.
