The First President of the Court of Accounts Receives the President and Members of the Public Accounts Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Zambia
On Tuesday, May 20, 2025, Mrs. Zineb EL ADAOUI, First President of the Court of Accounts, received Mr. Warren Chisha Mwambazi, President of the Public Accounts Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Zambia, accompanied by a high-level parliamentary delegation. The meeting took place at the Court’s headquarters in Rabat, in the presence of His Excellency Mr. Eliphas CHINYONGA, Ambassador of Zambia to the Kingdom of Morocco.
At the outset of the meeting, the First President welcomed the President and members of the Zambian delegation, and commended the depth of the historical ties uniting the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Zambia. She then presented an overview of the constitutional missions of the Court of Accounts, in particular its role in assisting Parliament in overseeing the management of public affairs, in accordance with legal provisions and if necessary,. She also emphasized the Court’s commitment to exercising its responsibilities independently, while remaining open to its environment.
The First President further underlined the efforts made by the Court to modernize its communication mechanisms, with the aim of improving the accessibility and fostering greater ownership by the audited entities.
For his part, Mr. Warren Chisha Mwambazi recalled the historic visit of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, to the Republic of Zambia in February 2017, which led to the signing of strategic partnership agreements that significantly strengthened bilateral cooperation. He expressed his institution’s strong interest in the Moroccan experience in the field of supreme audit of public finances.
During the visit, the Zambian delegation attended presentations on the jurisdictional and non-jurisdictional functions of the Court, followed by fruitful exchanges on key areas such as the follow-up of recommendations, mandatory asset declarations, certification of State accounts, and the audit of political parties accounts.
The meeting was attended, on the Zambian side, by the President of the Public Accounts Committee, the Vice-president, and several senior officials and administrative staff of the Committee; and on the Moroccan side, by the Secretary General, the General Coordinator, and senior officials in charge of core functions and support structures of the Court of Accounts.
