Prospective Working Session on Cooperation Perspectives between the Court of Accounts and the Swiss Federal Audit Office (SFAO)
Mrs. Zineb El Adaoui, First President of the Court of Accounts, received on May 07, 2026, at the Court’s headquarters in Rabat, His Excellency Mr. Valentin Zellweger, Ambassador of Switzerland to the Kingdom of Morocco, for a prospective working session dedicated to exploring cooperation perspectives between the Court and the Swiss Federal Audit Office (SFAO).
During this meeting, the First President presented the constitutional and institutional missions of the Court of Accounts, showcasing its distinct mandate which integrates both judicial and non-judicial functions. She further detailed the major strategic initiatives and projects currently spearheaded by the Institution, all of which are fundamentally aimed at maximizing the impact of public auditing on management and enhancing the quality of services provided to citizens, in line with the High Directives of His Majesty the King, May Allah Assist Him.
Furthermore, the First President underscored the influential role the Court plays regionally and internationally, particularly with its mandates as the General Secretariat of the African Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (AFROSAI) and the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions with Jurisdictional Functions (JURISAI).
For his part, His Excellency the Ambassador commended the leading role of the Court of Accounts in enshrining the principles of good governance and fostering institutional cooperation internationally. He expressed his full readiness to facilitate and support the deepening of partnership ties between the Moroccan Court of Accounts and the Swiss Federal Audit Office.
The discussions focused on pathways to bolster this cooperation, with the First President expressing the Court’s aspiration to consolidate bilateral relations through the exchange of expertise in areas of common interest, notably the evaluation of public programs and projects. On a multilateral level, this partnership is intended to extend to the various initiatives organized by the Court for African SAIs under the aegis of AFROSAI. In sum, the Ambassador reaffirmed his commitment to coordinating with SFAO and relevant stakeholders to support these proposed projects, thereby serving the shared interests of both oversight institutions on both bilateral and multilateral fronts.
